Behind the Lens: Mariona Lloreta

Growing up in Barcelona, I was surrounded by light, rhythm, and a quiet sense of beauty in everyday life: the interplay of sun and shadow along the narrow streets of the Gòtic quarter, the movement of fabric on a line, the warm air thick with sea salt. In my grandmother’s kitchen, simple rituals carried a sense of care, presence, and intention that continues to shape how I see.

In Spain, there is a word—duende—used to describe an indescribable kind of magic hidden within ordinary moments. It’s something I’ve always been drawn to, and still seek in my work.

For over 17 years, I’ve worked internationally as a film director, producer, and multidisciplinary artist, shaping stories across cinema, photography, and the visual arts. My work is guided by intuition and intention, with a focus on capturing what feels honest and nuanced. Becoming a mother has deepened my awareness of time and the quiet beauty within each passing moment.

I’m drawn to the people who shape your world—the ones who make your heart sing and give meaning to your days. I aim to honor those relationships with depth and care, creating work that allows you to return: to relive, to feel, to carry these moments forward for generations.
